Job Description:

Develop and implement the Group Enterprise and Supplier Development Strategy guided by the governing legislation and guidelines including BBBEE Codes of Good Practice, UN SDG Goals and Small Business Development Plan of SA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Marketing and Awareness of ESD to internal and external stakeholder
  • Develop guidelines and policies for the procurement community to achieve the Groups ESD strategy and to monitor the implementation thereof
  • Define reporting frameworks and report on ESD for the Group to various stakeholders
  • Support the development and growth of the AECI ESD beneficiaries
  • Guide business on the preferential procurement best practice in sourcing products and services
  • Develop targets and report on the Group’s Sustainability Goals related to Enterprise and Supplier Development
  • Work with procurement community to drive and improve AECI procurement spend with BEE compliance suppliers according to the new DTi scorecard
  • Develop pipeline for Funding and oversee alignment of the Good Chemistry Fund to the investment mandate and ESD vision
  • Co-ordinate the local content verification process for products supplied to the Mines
  • Ensure that AECI meets its targets of Enterprise and Supplier Development as set out in the new DTi scorecard compliance requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Function experience in procurement or supply chain
  • Grade 12
  • Chemical industry knowledge will be advantageous
  • University degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or any equivalent
  • Any post graduate qualifications advantageous (Example, MBA)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Over 5 years’ experience in supply chain, BEE and ESD
  • Broad knowledge of codes of good practice and various DTi industry-specific charters
  • Experience with ERP/ and or spend management systems.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other analytical tools
