Job Description:

Measure, monitor and report on a shift basis, plant performance including operating efficiencies, production yield, plant availability and productivity

Job Responsibilities:

• Motivate, oversee and coach plant operators and train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
• Manage shift employee schedules and time-off requests.
• Check production output requirement is met and conforms to specification and quality standards
• Identify issues in efficiency of operations and suggest improvements
• Perform cycle counts to manage operating costs and ensure availability of material
• Ensure all specified daily, weekly and monthly scheduled maintenance activities are conducted and report all shortcomings to prevent failures and downtime
• Ability to adapt to changing situations in a positive and flexible manner
• Ensure that all members of the operations team abide by all safety regulations and policies thus providing a safe workplace for all

Job Requirements:

• B-tech in Chemical Engineering (would be advantageous)
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of production management theories, principles and practices
• Computer literacy and SAP experience
• Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosive Act
• Diploma in Chemical Engineering Qualification
• 2 – 3 years in production supervisory role experience
• People management
