Job Description:
The General Executive Renewable Energy is responsible for the development of renewable generation projects to comply with the Missouri Renewable Energy Standard, reliable and affordable transition of Ameren Missouri’s generation portfolio and development of customer renewable energy solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead negotiations and project oversight for solar and wind asset purchases.
- Assist in project budgeting and design.
- Primary responsibility is to support activities for the establishment and execution of the long-term strategic goals related to renewable and alternative energy initiatives for Ameren Missouri.
- Complete request for proposals evaluations, market assessments, project evaluations, and fatal flaw identification.
- Lead/Support self development activities in early, mid and late stages of a project.
- Manage wind and/or solar project activities, including the negotiation of definitive agreements: build transfer agreements, power supply agreements, engineering procurement and construction agreements, and operations and maintenance agreements.
- Oversee and assist in the development of wind and solar project scopes of work.
- Lead and assist local, state and federal regulatory filings teams for wind and solar projects, specifically lead Missouri Public Service Commission certificate of convenience and necessity permits.
- Supporting internal business case justifications, economic evaluation and regulatory filings with the Missouri Public Service Commission.
- Lead or evaluate MISO generation interconnection activities.
- This support may come in the form of project development through identifying and evaluating real estate for renewable development, communicating plans to local county and city authorities, performing diligence on potential properties for purchase or lease and coordinating utility-scale renewable projects through independent system operators and regional transmission organization
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required preferably in engineering, finance and/or business development.
- Certifications from recognized industry organizations (i.e. planning, renewable development, project management professional, real estate, etc.) preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years of professional energy experience dealing with wind and solar project contracting and development.
