Job Description:

This role sits within the Platform Operations Team, Public Data Ops, where we strive to automate manual efforts creating scale for operations teams while driving strategic solutions to shift data management for the Aladdin® Platform.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with other internal teams and subject matter experts across the firm to deliver innovative and robust solutions to help remediate challenges faced by our Operational Teams.
  • Initiate and drive platform and process innovations to support new business needs, minimize risk, improve quality, and navigate changing markets.
  • Gain broad experience in Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives and Alternatives products and how they are modeled and traded in Aladdin.
  • Take active part in the ongoing projects and provide support through code reviews, unit testing, integration testing etc.
  • Undertake solo or team projects and deliver solutions that meet BlackRock’s software design and implementation requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex and intricate issues and perform ad hoc analysis across various data repositories while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Support management decision-making through in-depth analysis and research. Build management reporting solutions using Data Visualization tools and present findings to key partners and executives.
  • Use your knowledge of Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning etc. to build scalable solutions and derive actionable insights.

Job Requirements:

  • Excitement to learn and passionate about challenging one’s knowledge.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of Object-Oriented Programming and its applications.
  • A “Student of the Markets” mentality. Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
  • Familiarity with tools such as PyCharm, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks etc.
  • Knowledge of different relational and non-relational databases along with the commonly used terminologies and standard methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Snowflake is nice to have.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, and UNIX along with a desire to expand technical expertise.
  • Problem solving approach to identify, investigate, and solve issues that arise.
  • Time management skills to handle project deliverables and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science, or other similar fields.
  • Knowledge of version control tools like Git/CVS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI etc.
