Job Description:
As a senior engineer in the Aladdin Data Cloud team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying the platform components required to execute our product roadmap. Working alongside the ADC product team, data operations and data engineering teams you will work on a mix of first party APIs and services as well as industry standard components deployed on our Snowflake and Azure based platform to deliver high quality data and features to our global Aladdin clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leverage DevOps principles and build a culture of automation to reduce manual interactions across the platform and realize scale and resiliency
- Drive development of data consumption and management capabilities including metadata APIs, data access APIs and services to manage compute and entitlements
- Design and deliver future state data ingestion capabilities using industry standard tooling like Apache Airflow, dbt and others
- Lead onboarding of new datasets onto Aladdin Datawarehouse / Aladdin Data Cloud by being hands-on involved with understanding the data model, creation of database objects, store procs and/or stage tables, updating ETL jobs and rolling out new datasets to users across growing set of clients
- Mentor team members and share experience of best practices around data modelling, pipeline design and operation and data quality
- Be part of a highly performant, Agile engineering team, constantly providing feedback to improve our culture and agile process
- Work closely with multiple product teams and enterprise information architect to develop the data model required to deliver reporting ready, curated data to our users
Job Requirements:
- Experience with database fundamentals like SQL, DDL, store procedures, etc
- Background in data modelling, date pipeline design and management
- 7+ years of experience as a software or data platform engineer
- Experience with financial data, ideally timeseries, bi-temporal data modelling
- Experience with Python
- Strong analytical, data architecture and software architecture design skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) are required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or engineering preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence working with enterprise scale analytical data platforms
- Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, Snowflake or similar cloud based analytical data platform would be a plus
