Job Description:
As a trader, you will collaborate with BlackRock Strategists, Portfolio Managers, Researchers, and other stakeholders to formulate trade strategies. You will directly engage counterparties to execute orders applying a range of tools and tactics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively contribute to the investment process to reduce transaction costs and to identify outperformance opportunities
- Manage equity orders in a risk-controlled manner as a fiduciary
- Oversee day-to-day tasks in support of trading activities and liaise with trading operations
- Support investment teams with market color, information flow, and data analysis requests
- Seek to provide Best Execution across equity and equity derivatives products including futures, ETFs, swaps, and convertible bonds
- Monitor market activity in areas of specialization and provide feedback to portfolio managers and internal partner groups
- Work with internal eTrading and Trading Research groups to innovate systems, trading analytics, and coordinate implementation
Job Requirements:
- Ability to articulate and translate data and ideas into audience appropriate communication
- Foundational understanding of liquidity and microstructure of equity markets
- Strong data analysis or financial coding skills (Python, R, SQL)
- Well organized with a high level of attention to detail
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and approaches new challenges with a positive mindset
- Analytical and creative approach to solving complex problems
- 2-4 years of relevant investment or trading related experience
