Job Description:
BlackRock anticipates significant growth in our Alternatives business and is seeking to hire a Managing Director and Head of Product Management & Client Lifecycle. This role will establish a center of excellence for all product development within BAI to provide governance for product pipeline creation and commercialization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create a central architecture for fund design and launch that retains institutional memory and shares lessons across teams.
- Provide a centralized framework for client coverage and map out a strategy for re-ups across the platform.
- Create decisioning tools to balance increased client requests for bespoke solutions with efficient, technology-driven and scalable solutions.
- Work across platform to distill varied distribution strategies into one BAI-wide governance structure for bringing products to market.
- Lead market intelligence and product innovation efforts; collaborate with asset class teams and distribution partners to evaluate new product development opportunities for new and existing clients, including market research and feasibility review.
- Act as key partner to Global Product Group to incorporate insights from the BlackRock enterprise strategy teams into BAI-embedded transformation efforts.
- Create strategic product roadmap/calendar across all business verticals to improve the effectiveness of campaign management
- Evaluate opportunities to improve client experience from database management through to all touch points with distribution professionals and collateral.
Job Requirements:
- Proven analytical skills and strategic capabilities – both quantitative and qualitative
- Strong intellectual ability and interpersonal skills to establish his/her credibility with the senior leaders throughout the Firm and throughout the institutional investor community
- Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships, as well as leverage relationships to accomplish business goals in a large, matrixed environment (including influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes)
- Strong, collaborative problem-solving skills; ability to develop hypotheses, be challenged, and challenge others
- Demonstrated project management experience; ability to pursue and oversee multiple concurrent initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead meetings with senior investors and extract ideas and needs, as well as ability to deliver presentations and coordinate across the firm
- Knowledge and strong understanding of the alternative investment management ecosystem (products, distribution channels, competitors, trends)
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion
- Deep understanding of the needs of institutional investors
- Superior organizational, project planning and management skills including ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask
- Collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks
