Job Description:
The Procurement Specialist supports the Company’s procurement programs such as supplier risk management, contract management, and supplier performance management. The position works with business functions to conduct sourcing events, and is also responsible for addressing stakeholder requests and other procurement related items. This position is located at Customer Support Services (Company Headquarters) in San Jose, California.
Job Responsibilities:
- Initiates Requests for Proposals (RFP) and analyzes proposed pricing from potential suppliers
- Sets up vendors in Procurement/Financial system
- Performs market research for various commodities
- Provides functional advice and assist in procurement training to other employees
- Identifies opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency
- Works closely with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Engineering, and Operations on contracts to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services, terms and conditions are supported, formally agreed to, and authorized
- Works with Supplier Diversity Program Manager to onboard and certify new vendors to increase utilization of diverse suppliers
- Assists in the identification, evaluation, and implementation of technology to support procurement practices and process improvement
- Creates and executes contract amendments/extensions
- Performs match override approvals and validations
- Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, and Procurement Policy as required; assists the Procurement Manager in enforcing the policy
- Manages or coordinates procurement programs such as supplier risk management and contracts management
- Interfaces with suppliers to understand service capabilities, negotiates price and commercial terms, and resolves issues
- Manages supplier performance collaboratively with key internal stakeholders
- Analyzes and validates pricing on long term contracts
Job Requirements:
- Valid California Driver License
- Proficient in the use of an enterprise-wide procurement system
- Upon hire, must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status
- Two to three years of experience as a procurement professional or contract administrator
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or other certifications in procurement or supply chain is a plus
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience is desired
- Experience in utility or construction industry is a plus
