Job Description:
The Supplier Management Office is responsible for the management of the end-to-end Third Party life cycle for Capital One in the UK, including sourcing, contracting and ongoing supplier and relationship management.
The Sourcing function sits within the SMO supporting the sourcing and commercial activities of our supply chain, including any potential new suppliers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders to approach commercial decisions more strategically and in line with business requirements and value for money criteria
- Collaborate with the wider supplier management team to scope, coach and drive the negotiation of commercial terms
- Be an expert in the use of sourcing and category related software tools including e-sourcing, category market intelligence portals, spend analysis, supplier financial monitoring and other software as required
- Develop supply market knowledge, investigate external industry trends and benchmarks resulting in the formation of category specific intelligence
- Develop strong partnerships across the Supplier Management Office, the Enterprise, risk management, business line areas and legal and information assurance teams
- Develop relationships, both internally and externally, to understand changes in the business environment and develop a deep understanding of business needs and deliver on business goals
- Proactively identify, drive and deliver on sourcing opportunities including RFI, RFP, direct negotiations and contract renewals
- Act as a sourcing and procurement subject matter expert in consulting with category managers, supplier managers and the wider business areas on procurement strategies, processes, policies, and best practices
Job Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment
- Strong commercial negotiation experience and strong contracting and drafting experience
- Building relationships, working in collaboration with cross functional teams and demonstrating effective communication
- Third party relationship/Supply Chain management experience
- Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels and strong stakeholder management experience
- Considerable experience in Strategic Sourcing and or procurement
