Job Description:
The successful candidate will be exposed to the ongoing management of Customs compliance activity to ensure Caterpillar prime and aftermarket product continuously moves both domestically and across international borders with adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a level of technical analysis for business reporting purposes, and review the various outputs for reasonableness and accuracy before submission to the relevant government bodies
- Advocate an awareness of Customs throughout the business through the provision of training, general support and guidance
- Contribute towards the development, testing and implementation of new and existing reporting procedures, work processes and business metrics, for ongoing compliance with UK and EU legislation to mitigate potential penalties
- Support preparation and submission of UK and NI Customs reporting to HMRC
- Monitor third party performance in relation to agreed Customs compliance expectations
- Liaise with HMRC and Caterpillar Trade CoE
Job Requirements:
- Experience of SAP order to cash, procure to pay and record to report cycles
- Fluency in English
- Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Excel
- Relative experience with ability to demonstrate practical standard of competence in customs compliance
- A degree in a comparative business related discipline. Candidates with lesser of no qualification must demonstrate substantially more relevant experience
- Self starter, with effective interpersonal and time management skills
- Sound understanding of risk management and controls environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience of importing and exporting procedures
- Knowledge of international supply chain processes including incoterms and origin
