Job Description:
The Building Construction Products (BCP) Division is a global division of Caterpillar Inc. that employs several thousand employees located at facilities worldwide. BCP has production facilities in the U.S., UK, China, India and Brazil. Products designed, manufactured, and distributed by BCP include skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, compact track loaders, multi-terrain loaders and small wheel loaders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Calibration of assembly tools
- Cross-functional communication to complete tasks
- Perform Inventory Record Accuracy and Inventory Dollar Accuracy counts
- Gather data from various tools and tooling systems and document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair
- Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures
- Inspects products to ensure it meets the specifications
- Perform overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection
- Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, electrical tests, templates, etc.)
- Process time studies and audits as needed for quality improvements
Job Requirements:
- Experience calibrating tools and gauges
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
- Ability to work at heights above 20 feet from the floor
- Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with inspection and product auditing processes
- Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
- Strong working knowledge of Assembly/Manufacturing practices
- Intermediate proficiency with measurement equipment and gauges
- Ability to perform repetitive operations
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
