Job Description:

As a Senior Engineer, you will be leading key engineering activity whilst working with our global development partners across Engine Development, Systems, Research, Component and Electronics teams and at times will be required to report directly into our product groups.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicating results and technical recommendations across our Engineering and Product teams via technical reviews, engineering reports and other required forums
  • Support to the design function is required through FMEA attendance
  • Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  • Mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems
  • Demonstrating product capability against Product and Technical Objectives together with identifying and mitigating technical risk by developing and aligning the business on key pass/fail criteria
  • Performance and Emissions calibration of large diesel and gas engines
  • Defining and managing component validation plans
  • Planning and delivering engine test programmes in support of our New Technology initiatives against tight time scales, required quality and to budget
  • Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent problem solver and demonstrated experience in delivering complex engine test programmes
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver projects with minimum supervision
  • Hands on engine testing and strong knowledge of problem-solving quality tools and risk mitigation tools (APQP, DFMEA etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (coaching, communication, teamwork) in order to build effective relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum together/or progressive experience within a relevant area of engineering
  • Experience in product development of diesel engines and new technology (such as engine calibration and/or software development, engine test and validation)
  • Experienced in the use of data analysis tools, testbed software, emissions measuring equipment and data logging systems
