Job Description:

As a Distribution Supervisor you will lead a team of Hourly Associates in the Atlanta Distribution Center. The team is responsible for the receipt, processing, packaging, storage, order filling and shipment of parts to Caterpillar dealers, Distribution Centers and Regional Distribution Centers to support the end users of Caterpillar equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the development of an effective work force by assigning, directing and motivating employees to conform, defined and documented processes
  • Maintaining and high employee morale by ensuring basic elements of work discipline are delivered
  • Conducting daily Performance Improvement Dialogues (PIDs) focused on Safety meetings and observing employees for unsafe behavior, and correcting behavior through counseling
  • Improving productivity and quality by taking ownership of the process
  • Providing necessary on the job training
  • Supervising hourly personnel to ensure completion of assigned tasks in accordance with established processes
  • Preparing and maintaining hourly payroll and attendance records, also Responsible for various projects and reports.
  • Responding to dealer calls and making immediate decisions to resolve the issue
  • Leading teams working on problem resolution and process improvement
  • Ensuring parts inventory is received, processed and stored in a safe, efficient and timely manner

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience with materials systems, receiving report processing, and state and federal shipping regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous EWM or other warehouse management system experience
  • Knowledge of various operating, purchasing, parts ordering and inventory management systems; the ability to read blueprints; familiarity with engineering data systems, as well as packaging and pricing knowledge
  • Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • 5+ years of warehouse operations experience
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, initiative and people skills and be able to handle more responsibility than the average supervisor on the floor
  • Bachelor’s degree completed, underway or willing to commence in coming school year
