Job Description:
SPM Oil and Gas provides superior products and service solutions to Oil & Gas customers in upstream, production, transportation, refining and related industries. Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes CAD/CAM software to create and maintain Program source files for Lathe, Mill and Multi-tasking machine types
- Coordinate with Design Engineering and NPI teams on manufacturability and cost estimates for newly developed SKUs
- Determines Part Production Plans for OEM items based on design features and geometry. Defines order-of-operations and machining sequences to ensure both part quality and throughput are maintained
- Coach machinists regarding best-practices and changes in process definitions
- Defines and designs material work-holding requirements for work pieces
- Focuses on standardization and continuous improvement of metal machining applications to include, but not limited to: Tool life management, tooling costs, chip control, changeover reduction, and cycle time improvements
- Maintains ERP system database with latest control plan instructions, work center routing steps, and cycle time requirements
Job Requirements:
- Internal candidates must be currently employed by an SPM Oil & Gas legal entity.
- Previous ERP experience
- Infor product is ideal, but not required
- Knowledge of statistical control measures, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- SolidWorks and Esprit software experience is ideal, but not required
- Able to coach and effectively communicate with leadership, peers, and production personnel regarding Design for Manufacturing (DfM),
- Standard work, SMED concepts, tool wear analysis
- 3D modelling and CAM software experience
- Knowledge of DNC process and procedures
- 4+ years in CNC machinist role and 2+ years CNC programming experience
- Reasonable knowledge of CNC Control panels including Fanuc, Okuma OSP, Mazatrol, Mitsubishi, & Siemens
