Job Description:
As a Senior Associate Engineer in the LPSD Electrical Systems Integration team you will have responsibilities for the day-to-day upkeep and enhancements of an electrical systems integration laboratory. The lab is used for validation of electrical/mechanical systems for diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines, as well as for advanced battery and electrification products. You will collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and production facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Designing, spec’ing, and building custom electrical test circuits/equipment
- Validation of software against requirements
- Creating automated test scripts utilizing Python
- Collaboration with electrical systems engineers
- Scheduling of shared lab resources
- Calibration of ECUs in real-time on running engines and hardware-in-the-loop simulators
- Collaboration with embedded software developers
- Upkeep and enhancements of engine simulators utilizing National Instruments and dSpace software
- Creation and maintenance of engine models utilizing Matlab/Simulink
Job Requirements:
- Programming experience (C, Python, Matlab, etc)
- Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting skills utilizing multimeters, current clamps, oscilloscopes, etc
- Harness design or assembly experience
- Experience interacting with electrical systems engineers and embedded software developers
- Experience with automotive and/or industrial communications protocols (CAN, ethernet, Modbus, etc)
- Strong IT skills to maintain multiple lab PCs used for hardware-in-the-loop simulation
- Experience with Vector CANape and CANalyzer
- Diesel engine knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology curriculum
