Job Description:
We are looking for skilled candidate who is enthusiastic about learning new and existing technologies in order to deliver exceptional solutions for the production resiliency of the systems. The role incorporates aspects of software engineering and operations. The Database SME will be responsible for supporting MongDB/PostgresSQL/Couchbase for Database as a Service (DBaas) team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design testing approaches, complex processes, reporting streams, and assist with the automation of repetitive tasks
- Review requirement documents, define hardware requirements and update processes and procedures as necessary
- Create complex project plans, perform impact analyses, solve/work high impact problems/projects, and provide resolution to restore services
- Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) post restoration of service
- Design/build for OEM environments, with OEM 13c experience preferred.
- Experience in Oracle 12c, 19c
- Design testing approaches, complex processes, reporting streams, and assist with the automation of repetitive tasks
- Provide technical/strategic direction to team members.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
- Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, run-books etc.)
- Experience with performance and troubleshooting on MongoDB/MSSQL/PostgresSQL/Oracle/Couchbase Databases
- Extensive experience with features such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM and Active Data Guard for HA and DR solutions,
- Golden Gate and other replication methods, TDE and other security products, and other advanced oracle features in Linux environment.
- Extensive experience diagnosing complex technical issues with DB’s, storage, networks in a production environment
- Senior Oracle/MongoDB/MSSQL/PostgreSQL/Couchbase SME to support critical Citi businesses
- Implement and maintain MongoDB OPS Manager/Cloud Manager. Design and implement HA/DR policies.
Job Requirements:
- Expertise in MongoDB database performance tuning and Query optimization.
- Exposure to infrastructure and platform capabilities – container, middleware, messaging, routing components
- Expertise in MongoDB HA and Scalable Architecture.
- Comfortable in using MongoDB tools like, mongostat, mongotop, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongodump, mongorestore etc. Database Security management and User Management.
- 5+ years of experience in administration of MongoDB Ops Mgr setup, Monitoring , Backup and Automation.
- 5+ years production Oracle Database Administration experience with RAC, ASM and RMAN.
- Experience on VMware technologies like ESXi, vSphere systems administration and support, including vMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Update Manager and Site Recovery Manager
- Adequate exposure to any public cloud based deployments (IaaS and PaaS), AWS/GCP/Azure
- Experience with Actifio is a plus
- Expertise in MongoDB installation, deployment and upgrade procedures including public clouds.
- Strong experience of MongoDB and Oracle, MSSQL and PostgresSQL/Couchbase databases.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.
- Expertise in Windows PowerShell commands and scripting.
- Exposure to Windows Server CORE.
- 3+ years of experience in design/build for OEM environments, with OEM 13c preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in installing , configuring and managing Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
- Experience in creating and managing Windows Server Failover Clusters.
- Skilled in troubleshooting BSOD and performing Crash dump analysis
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and 2019 environments database administration in Windows and virtual environments
- Experienced in implementation of HA options like Log Shipping, Mirroring and Replication and Clustering options for SQL Server
