Job Description:
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for developing courses. Focusing on creating learning materials using a variety of methodologies for web-based trainings and some instructor led material; integrate adult learning theory and creativity into all design elements for the creation of an interactive and effective learning experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide and be receptive to feedback.
- Develop assessment, such as knowledge checks or quizzes, to measure learners’ comprehension and aligning learning objectives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Create supporting material/media such as: “how to” guides, job aids, end-user material, facilitator guides for ILT, videos, infographics & simulations.
- Perform functional user acceptance testing (UAT) of internally designed courses.
- Utilize authoring software to create engaging and interactive e-learning courses, videos, etc.
- Work with subject matter experts to identify training needs and the relevant content.
- Identify the best ways to illustrate course content by selecting colors, images, typography, and layout while complying with design best practices.
- Develop new course materials, redesign, update, or modify existing modules by gathering content from SMEs, storyboarding, designing & developing, reviewing, testing, and publishing.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas.
- Create exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Conduct train the trainer sessions on how to deliver learning material.
- Interacting and working with other areas within Citi, as necessary.
- Maintain project documentation and course folders.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience incorporating adult learning theory, practices, and methodologies into the creation of training materials used in a business setting.
- Excellent creativity skills to capture learners’ attention.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability to collect and analyze complex content, problem-solve, and make decisions.
- Able to organize workload and manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in authoring stools: Storyline, Snagit, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, e.g., Photoshop, etc.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management.
- Detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Superb design skills: ability to produce cohesive learning experiences using lines, color, shape, space, images, and typography to create visually appealing and well-structured courses.
- Flexible with schedule (days/nights/ability to travel up to 20%) including remote work.
- Proven design experience using e-learning authoring software (ability to provide portfolio with work samples).
