Job Description:
This position conducts environmental inspections and enforcement at construction sites to assure compliance with the EPA Clean Water Act and the associated Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Construction General Permit, TXR-150000.
Job Responsibilities:
- They will investigate violations and participate in enforcement activities including writing citations and court appearances.
- They will research and evaluate plans, specifications and drawings, meet with engineers, developers, contractors, general public, and other government entities to respond to inquiries and technical problems.
- Participate in disaster recovery activities after manmade or natural emergency events.
- This can include preliminary damage assessments. substantial damage declarations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience related to the area of inspection to be performed are required.
- Requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and up to 18 months of education or training in the area of inspection to be performed.
- Requires a valid Texas driver’s license and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving.
