Job Description:
Performs substantially complex and varied administrative functions in the direction and coordination of programs and procedures in the assigned department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administers and issues medications and vaccines according to approved standing delegation orders.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including nights and weekends
- Assists to ensure positive outcomes in all clinical service areas (i.e. productivity, wait time decrease).
- Conducts registration at COVID-19 vaccines sites
- May make referrals and assist with emergency response activities.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and medications and cleanliness of the office/clinic.
- Participates in quality improvement activities including record reviews, chart audits, skills assessments, and competency evaluations.
- Interviews patients and records their medical history using electronic health records; verifies medical history, screens immunization records
- Assists in compiling statistical data for reports.
- Administers injections and skin tests; takes blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration and other testing.
- Will need to drive to various locations throughout City of Houston
- Assists with patient follow-up; assists nurse or physician as directed.
- May be reassigned to other clinical services as needed
- Administers COVID-19 vaccines
Job Requirements:
- Medical Assistant and CPR certification must be maintained and current for continued employment.
- Completion of basic CPR certification required.
- Six (6) months of related experience in a medical clinic, hospital or other health care facility are required.
- Medical Assistant certification is required.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED certificate. Completion of a standardized program of medical education that provides training in medically assisting patients.
