Job Description:
The purpose of Landside Operations is to provide a safe and efficient flow for passengers, baggage, and vehicles while performing inspections of roadways, tenant areas, terminal, and landside facilities to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drives issues to closure and persists in the face of obstacles. Moves quickly to take a forceful stand without being overly abrasive.
- Follows the Airport Security Plan. Performs in a supportive role to all security activities.
- Inspect airport terminal areas, airport perimeter, and landside facilities. Prepares inspection and investigation reports. Reports unsafe conditions, policy and procedure violations, and takes corrective action as needed.
- Acts as an Operations field liaison during emergencies. Supports operational activities and maintains order during emergencies. Follows the
- Airport Emergency Plan and other airport rules and regulations.
- Responds to airport emergencies and conveys a sense of urgency when dispatched.
- May assist in training of Landside Agents.
- Perform traffic and curbside management duties and enforces parking regulations. Issues parking citations and initiates vehicle tows as needed.
- Inspects commercial vehicles and enforces compliance of applicable regulations. Issues citations as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Two years of experience in airport operations, airport security, airport safety and/or any other customer service related field is required.
- Directly related professional experience in airport operations/security or customer service may substitute for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airway Science, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A valid Texas Driver’s License and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2).
