Job Description:

The Staff Hardware Engineer will be the test architect to define, develop, and design hardware and software requirements to be used for R&D manufacturing test systems. This candidate will manage and drive Hardware, Software, Test Equipment, and architecture decisions for both internal and external test system development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with external contractors to specify scope and schedule to drive designs to completion
  • Define regulatory requirements of new designs (60601-1-2 EMC/ESD for example)
  • Contribute to and review technical solutions for product improvements and impact on validation testing.
  • Mapping of validation testing protocols to system level specifications including dFMEA
  • Defining the impact to specifications and testing requirements of iterative projects based on an already released product.
  • As the lead technical resource: form a team, define technical design parameters and specifications, test/validation solutions and execute for on-time delivery of project goals and objectives.
  • Beginning with the design phase, provide inputs in the early stages of a project to define technology, testability, and scalability challenges.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reporting out and up on status, challenges and mitigations of assigned projects, lead role.
  • Organization and lead of a team to complete DVT of new product designs

Job Requirements:

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Previous R&D engineering lab experience
  • Experienced in design-for-reliability (DFR), design-for-test (DFT), design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-cost (DFC) practices for very high-volume products.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dig into complex problems
  • Analog hardware development and testing skills
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in written form, with strong organizational skills
  • Experience with low power battery operated designs
