Dexcom Jobs – Staff Product Owner

Job Description:

In this role, the successful candidate will gain an understanding of the vision of our executive leadership and other cross-team stakeholders to translate them into identified impacts and documented requirements. He or she will set expectations, communicate timelines, and prioritize work for developers to meet or exceed expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitate bi-weekly sprint planning and conduct other Agile ceremonies
• Generate and keep current the project requirements by interviewing business owners and technical owners and translate those requirements into a prioritized project feature backlog
• Conduct story mapping exercises with business owners, product managers, and IT application team leads and define the roadmap for each project
• Prioritize work based on (sometimes shifting) project needs, task dependencies, team capacities and schedules
• Represent and prioritize the voice of the customer
• Current and projected customer demands
• Work with Project Management and team leadership to define project roadmaps based on several factors including
• Develop and maintain user stories from project requirements with clear product acceptance criteria in a prioritized product backlog
• Infrastructure health, reliability, scalability, and flexibility
• Leadership vision

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated product owner, project management or business analysis skills, with proven track record of analyzing data or requirements and measuring program performance with data
• Related and direct experience in Product Owner, Business Analysis and Project Management areas
• Integrated process, people, quality and commitment-centric approach to getting work done – strong customer service orientation
• Familiarity with software development principles and knowledge of the full lifecycle of a software development product.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams with stakeholders – strong influential and partnering skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong understanding and appreciation of business process and pain points in business areas
• Strong project, risk, schedule, communication, change, and deliverable management skills
• Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, etc.), Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheet or Project
• Broad business and technical acumen and proven experience working effectively in a matrixed organization and ability to collaborate effectively across geographies
