Job Description:
The High Voltage Battery Validation Engineer is responsible for sample preparation, test setup, and physical testing of traction battery components and assemblies. The engineer is encouraged to deliver high quality results in support of vehicle program milestone events and core engineering test projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and publish standardized test methods
- Analyze test data to determine the causes of defects, failures as well as successes and present findings to the team
- Develop intellectual property ideas for electrified vehicle systems
- Maintain HV Level 2 Safety training
- Implement functional, safety, and thermal performance tests on battery pack systems
- Collaborate with CAE and Validation teams to develop, calibrate and implement validation efficiencies
- Perform data analysis and contribute to further develop data analysis tools
- Assess product requirements, determine validation objectives and develop verification plans with efficient test timing
- Lead test requests, schedules and facilities
Job Requirements:
- Master of Science in Engineering discipline
- Strong teamwork, organization, and oral/written communication
- High voltage safety certification
- Enjoy technical, hands-on work
- Experience in user level or better software skills: MATLAB, Python, and AVL/Lynx
- 1+ years of experience executing research and development testing or product validation
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline or other related degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- Experience using CAN communication tools
