We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Programme Director to join HSBC Technology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
  • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Drive adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, Security controls and technology architecture designs
  • Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
  • Establish effective governance and controls, in line with Business Transformation Framework and coordination of cross technology teams, cross Global Business/Global Functions delivery
  • Support Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, budget
  • Oversee process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as: disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous DevOps pipelines development.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to effectively transform and embed cultural change
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to influence, lead and drive teams to deliver. Demonstrate good judgement and a high level of communication skills to achieve effective stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely, suitable for all levels across the HSBC group. Gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior executives
  • Experience of managing significant transformation and global organisational change programmes in a large matrix organisation, with the ability to influence key stakeholders across GB/GFs, regions and upward stakeholder management with senior executives
  • Strong Commercial Orientation, ability in balancing risks vs. rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business
  • Strong background in Technology, Agile and DevSecOps.
