Job Description:

The Senior Analyst, Fuel & Market Risk is responsible for various aspects of JetBlue’s physical fuel procurement and management. The Fuel & Market Risk team oversees one of JetBlue’s largest operating expenses, ensuring efficacy, cost competitiveness, and continuous process improvement of the fuel life cycle. Additionally, the team is responsible for the design and execution of the airline’s hedge programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure internal audit compliance for both physical fuel and risk mitigating hedge programs
  • Complete project/analysis requests; regularly partner with internal and external parties
  • Assist in the strategy and execution of our Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) agenda
  • Optimize working capital by analyzing payment terms and physical fuel inventory management
  • Actively seek to enhance, and deliver forward monthly fuel consumption forecasts to our suppliers for each JetBlue destination
  • Drive value by representing JetBlue at industry fuel consortia/committee meetings and with industry trade associations (IATA, A4A)
  • Actively identify, analyze and drive cost savings opportunities from the well to the wing of our aircraft
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with fuel service providers and the JetBlue operations teams to ensure physical fuel supply 24×7 – securing our ability to fly
  • Manage the fuel invoice reconciliation process to ensure the accuracy of all fuel related expenses
  • Project manage multiple fuel digital transformation initiatives including coordination with business partners and network rollout
  • Negotiate and execute annual jet fuel supply contracts for all JetBlue locations
  • Proactively monitor the oil market and present risk mitigation strategies

Job Requirements:

  • Previous airline, fuel, or energy industry experience
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience.
  • MBA and or CPA
  • Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the US
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize assignments
  • Proven ability to deliver savings and value through negotiation and financial analysis
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including ability to interact with executive leadership
  • Basic understanding of the energy/oil commodity market
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Three (3) years of Fuel, Finance, Supply Chain or related experience
