Job Description:

The candidate should be capable of undertaking surveillance credit coverage of a defined list of Issuers and work collaboratively with team in New York. Generalists are encouraged to apply, although candidates with experience in covering Utility, Energy, Infrastructure, and REIT sectors will be desirable and those with exposure to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessment highly regarded.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and oversee colleagues on the team, assisting in development and credit knowledge
  • Preparing Earnings Summaries
  • Preparing and maintaining/updating financial models with projections and monitoring KPIs/credit metrics
  • preparing questions for management
  • Presenting regularly to senior investment team on issuer coverage and identifying potential watchlist/credit risks for the portfolio
  • Writing Credit reports
  • Fundamental credit research on a defined list of Issuers. Ability to make an informed view on absolute credit risk, ratings, direction, and identifying risks/mitigants
  • Participating in conference calls, analysis of financial reports and discussions with management/rating agencies (when applicable)
  • Maintaining comparative company analysis
  • Updating views on portfolio positions
  • Working on adhoc projects based on topical issues/trends/reforms impacting industries
  • Preparing industry databases and sections of thematic reports and presentations
  • Actively tracking refinancing/repricing/amend & extend opportunities of defined coverage

Job Requirements:

  • Strong Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills
  • Experience in writing credit reports
  • Excellent credit skills demonstrated through prior relevant experience (10+ years for VP and 5+ years for Associate) working as a research analyst
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – present ideas in a clear, concise, and constructive manner
  • MBA or equivalent qualification in Finance with superior academic record; CFA will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with financial databases like Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.
  • Motivated team player and flexible in approach with ability to work independently
