Job Description:
The Blackrock Alternative Investors (BAI) Core Portfolio Management team (“Core PM”) is responsible for implementing investment decisions across BAI product, while also providing oversight of BAI’s governance model and adherence to BlackRock investment best practices. The team is responsible for ensuring that the portfolios meet their investment objectives and are managed in a consistent and risk-controlled manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Determine distribution & capital call needs and amounts for closed-end portfolios
- Oversee the ongoing management of subscription lines and leverage facilities to ensure they are used optimally
- Ability to minimize cash drag on performance, while balancing funding risk in illiquid portfolios
- Responsible for day-to-day portfolio construction, hedging strategies, liquidity management and governance
- Drive innovation across investment processes, automation and ability streamline activities
- Ability to monitor liquidity for all portfolios, including cash forecasting, borrowing capability, reserve requirements, and dry powder
- Collaborate with the wider PM team to deliver optimal portfolio construction
- Lead a team while being responsible for Core Portfolio Management (Core PM) investment activities across Private and Liquid strategies
- Be a leader in developing relationships with key BlackRock control functions and partner teams (e.g., RQA, legal, tax, trading operations, portfolio compliance etc.)
- Oversee the FX hedging platform across credit funds to minimize currency exposure for clients
- Collaborate with BAI partners as part of the launch and implementation of new Credit products
Job Requirements:
- Coding experience preferable (e.g., Python)
- Understanding of FX strategies
- Experience in Credit markets / Credit related role. Knowledge across Public & Private asset classes
- Experience building and developing diverse teams
- Knowledge of Aladdin tools beneficial
- Successful experience working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; drive to succeed.
- Strong risk management awareness
- Strong process-oriented background including introduction of controls & procedures
- Demonstrated planning and organization skills and the proven ability to work efficiently under pressure. Ability to work with challenging situations in a mature manner.
- Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
- Experience with portfolio management, fund structuring, or fund operations
