The CRA Strategy & Program Management (S&PM) team partners with lines of business across the enterprise to sustain Capital One’s longstanding Outstanding CRA performance. We maintain high data quality and control standards, and develop and support effective strategies with each applicable business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 2+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
  • Provide assistance and actively participate in CRA projects and other initiatives, such as CRA performance monitoring and examination preparation
  • Provide guidance on internal control design, implementation and monitoring
  • Perform targeted tests of business unit internal controls and provide guidance on identified exposures and risks
  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
  • Advise business units on application of CRA compliance requirements; potential exposures with respect to new products and services, changes to processes and technology, and changes in laws and regulations; development of and changes to internal controls; and remediation/corrective actions
  • Monitor reported issues, events and other indicators and advise on identified emerging risks
  • Provide guidance on corporate policies, standards and procedures
  • Identify and respond to ongoing regulatory changes; ensure implementation of required policies and procedures and appropriate operational and compliance oversight
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Provide input and guidance on regulatory requirements and their applicability to the business units responsible for supporting compliance with the technical CRA requirements
  • Assist with coordination of third-party compliance reviews and testing
  • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
  • Develop strong understanding of applicable CRA-related laws and regulations
  • Assist with reporting activities such as divisional risk reporting, risk and control assessments, and reports to Senior Leadership

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Risk Professional
  • At least 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance management, at least 3 years of experience in operational risk management, or a combination of the two
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing, assessing and providing guidance on internal control design, implementation and monitoring
  • At least 1 year of experience in CRA compliance, at least 1 year of experience in CRA performance management, or a combination of the two
  • At least 3 years of experience in audit, at least 3 years of experience in controls, or a combination of the two
  • At least 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance management in a financial services institution, at least 5 years of experience in operational risk management in a financial services institution, or a combination of the two in a financial services institution
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
