Job Description:

The Communications Architectures and Research Section is seeking a motivated and analytical Business Operations Administrator II. The selected candidate will be a member of the Business Administration Group, and will report to the Section Business Manager (BAM). This position is well-suited for an individual who thrives balancing multiple priorities and excels in a fast-paced environment, while providing excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop financial reports, dashboards, and business metrics.
  • Collaborate with customers and business partners to achieve objectives and increase the efficiency of the organization, as well as, serve as a liaison on a variety of business operations topics.
  • Partner with BAM on personnel requisitions, price outs, promotions, and workforce planning
  • Assist with the development and control of organizational budgets to include planning and reporting responsibilities, forecasting, conducting monthly cost analyses and account reconciliation.
  • Support a variety of ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Lead subcontract administrative activities for the Section and partner with Contract Technical Managers.
  • Serve as point of contact for safety, environmental, property asset management and facility-related activities.
  • Manage and lead NASA and JPL awards programs for the Section
  • Assist with exporting and analyzing discreet information.
  • Maintain and update the Section’s internal and external website and repository databases.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or Master’s degree in similar disciplines with 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience and broad knowledge in one or more of the following areas: business administration and operations, finance, budgeting, workforce planning, business information systems, acquisitions, human resources and facilities management.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism and customer service.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: business administration, human resources, workforce planning, and acquisitions.
  • Strong professional characteristics: trustworthy, responsible, attention to detail, hardworking, intellectually curious individual who takes initiative and ownership of work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Desired knowledge of administrative processes for hosting international visitors (post-docs, visiting scholars) and familiarity with immigration statuses.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel [pivot tables, macros, advanced functions], PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). Comfortable maximizing IT solutions.
  • Proven experience in the use of budgeting and reporting tools including the Institutional Budgeting Tool (IBT), PowerBI, Oracle Business
  • Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Workday, or similar tools.
