Job Description:

As a Property Administrator I, you will be a member of the Logistics Division Section 2830 and will report to the Shipping, Receiving, Mail Services Group Supervisor. You will be responsible for receiving, identifying, processing, and tagging trackable property before distribution throughout the Lab and will be the single point of contact/liaison for all property related issues within the shipping and receiving organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Tag items at location/ remote tagging/ off site to include: On-lab, Campus and other JPL locations.
  • Removal of property tags for pending permanent transfer and coordinate retirement of assets with Retirement Clerk to complete property retirement cycle
  • Unpack or uncrate packages to verify quantity, conformance, and tag (as required) then repack for local or off-lab distribution
  • Work with Shipping Import personnel to ensure Imported property arriving at JPL was properly classified and followed all import regulations
  • Close out pending shippers pertaining to trackable property, as received, for reconciliation
  • Review and assess all incoming receipts for taggable assets and be the responsible individual to assess if RFID taggable (and which type to use) by establishing Property records for all taggable/controlled property passing through the assigned work area of responsibility in a timely manner upon receipt or fabrication
  • Manage the receiving dock property tag log(s) and be the single point of contact and accountability for Shipping and Receiving regarding all
  • Property items meeting tagging criteria by maintaining adequate and appropriate detailed supporting documentation of the receiving, tag assignment and other related activities. This includes properly maintained files that reflect the status of requisitions and/or other acquisition documents processed.
  • Manage the Automatic Data Interface submittals to Property Group (2831) for new property items created in excess of 10 items per part number; and provide support with any property receiving concerns
  • Provides a complete, accurate, and auditable trail of all records created, to include: Items required within the property record (e.g. Item Name,
  • Part/Model number, Serial Number, description, manufacturer, model number, and National Stock Number (if needed for additional item identification tracking and/or disposition), FSG/FSC, Date in Service
  • May assist in the un-stuffing of taggable property items within containers from the DSN locations and follow up with manifest distribution

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Proficient with MS office automation applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
  • Familiar with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 52-245.1 and related government requirements for the property life cycle from acquisition through disposition
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to operate an electric and/or manual pallet jack or other material handling equipment
  • Adept at interfacing with all levels of personnel
  • Strong team player
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of related experience
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication and time management skills
