Job Description:
The Autonomous Systems Engineer position will provide subject matter expertise in the Robotic Systems Technology branch for both system-level and robotic autonomy. The position will be responsible for assisting in the development of technology development proposals, the assessment of industry partners, understanding requirements and interface specifications for the purpose of architecting complex autonomous systems, and the integration of autonomy and robotic components for NASA missions.
Job Requirements:
- In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
- To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal sector working with software modules with one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, cFS, CentOS, ROS, Ubuntu, Python; implementing machine learning processes; and designing any level of autonomous control for systems.
