Job Description:

We have an exciting position for a Supervisor Load and Haul to manage the quality assurance processes and to maximise the utilisation of equipment in the area of responsibility. To manage subordinates’ activities to achieve the section’s set targets and develop them to the prescribed level of competence. To implement and streamline new working procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, implement and review contingency plans to ensure production levels are maintained.
  • Substandard road conditions are reported to the responsible section to keep damage to haul trucks to the minimum.
  • Prepare and review report for shift handovers, ensuring sufficient planning is in place to ensure no impact on operations and / or production.
  • Haul trucks’ condition is monitored and any deviations are reported to Maintenance immediately.
  • Haul trucks are utilised according to the target to ensure the achievement of hauling targets.
  • The different factors from a hauling’s perspective that influence cycle times, are addressed to ensure the shortest possible cycle times.
  • Ensure effective procedures are in place to ensure continuous availability of equipment and to achieve production targets.
  • Direct the production environment through the effective monitoring and controlling of the production processes to ensure outputs are within the required specifications.
  • Trucks are loaded to full capacity when hauling and the Loading section is informed when this is not achieved.
  • Co-ordinate, supervise and plan production teams to achieve production targets for area of responsibility.

Job Requirements:

  • Theory on effective Load and Haul techniques
  • Code 08 Drivers Licence
  • Basic understanding of commercial explosive products and their properties, including initiation systems
  • Computer Literacy
  • Grade 12/N3
  • FLM/BMP will serve as a recommendation
  • Opencast Blasting Certificate
  • Load and haul leverage on operational safety and performance outcomes
  • Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
  • 3 years Mining production experience
