Job Description:

As a Personal History Interviewer (PHI) you will work in a fast-paced Call Center environment for Lincoln’s Underwriting & New Business department and be responsible for interviewing clients to obtain detailed health, financial, and insurance information. This includes a cognitive word recall interview with older age clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle sensitive information in a mature and professional manner
  • Will be handling a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone interviews with clients to obtain detailed (and sensitive) health, financial, and insurance information. Will perform cognitive interviews with word recall with older age clients
  • Provides guidance and training to other members of Underwriting on specifics of the PHI process
  • Ability to handle challenging customers professionally
  • Maintains effective communication with members of Underwriting
  • Possess the ability to identify possible cognitive issues, possible fraud and suspicious interaction with clients and alert underwriter to any of these “red flags” encountered during the PHI interview
  • Builds PHI Interview form in preparation for client interview
  • Enjoy phone interaction (95% of the job)
  • Possess typing skills that enable the ability to accurately capture information as provided by the client
  • Possess strong phone communication skills to include the ability to direct the client/control the interview to obtain the necessary information, deal with a diverse client base

Job Requirements:

  • Good communication skills – an enthusiastic phone voice and the ability to direct and control a conversation in a friendly manner
  • Someone who has had experience providing customer service by phone and someone who truly enjoys being on the phone (it is 95% of your day)
  • A track record of being able to work independently
  • Typing skills that would enable them to capture information accurately as it is being provided by the client
  • Self-motivated, self-driven
  • Someone who enjoys working in a face paced office environment (our PHI team is extremely busy ! )
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 + years of experience that align with the specifics of the position (heavy phone customer service)
  • The ability to work with difficult clients in a professional manner
  • Corporate maturity
