Job Description:

The Head of Personal Retirement Product Management oversees and manages the strategic direction, risk management, and positioning of BofA/Merrill personal retirement planning and product offering. Personal retirement product solutions include annuities, insurance, education savings (529), and IRA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of both federal and state regulations and the various regulators for each product and the various platforms they reside on
  • Set business goals, financial forecasting and growth strategy of all personal retirement products
  • Provide the strategic vision and communication to our third party product partners (e.g. annuities ,insurance, 529 program and asset managers)
  • Leverage legal, risk, compliance and supervision partners to provide guidance and direction on key risk decisions
  • Fully understand and track the regulatory framework that impacts our retirement offering
  • Provide leadership and a voice within the industry to develop innovative and simplify products that our clients can understand and meet their retirement goals
  • Set the strategic direction of our retirement solutions by understanding industry trends, client needs and the competitive landscape to differentiate our personal retirement offering
  • Manage and lead a team of product managers and associates to ensure the proper level SME is in place and being further developed
  • Ensure a culture is in place that leads to innovation, challenging the status quo and delivering on responsible growth
  • Ensure a strong governance structure is in place and the product managers and associate members are fully trained and in adherence with it
  • Develop a strong candidate pipeline for future positions and ensure development plans are in place for top talent on the team
  • Develop and lead the Firm’s retail retirement offering that innovates and simplifies for our clients the ability to both grow and draw down retirement assets during their lifetime
  • Focus on simplifying and improving current processes and simplifying the product offering

Job Requirements:

  • Proven risk management experience and regulatory knowledge of the industry
  • Strong process and operational excellence mindset; proven results around business transformation
  • Results-oriented, enterprise leader with proven track record of success; credibility with leadership; experience in driving business results
  • Demonstrated results to understand and lead the financial forecasting of a business with key performance indicators and critical financial metrics
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet quality objectives; ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills; excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Minimum of 6+ years in leading a team with high performing results
  • Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, Life, Health and Variable Annuity
  • Minimum 4 year college degree required with advanced education preferred; 15+ years experience in the financial industry with strong concentration in retirement
