Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of Finishing and Warehousing, the incumbent will be responsible for the effective management and dispatch of all saleable goods from the mill; to receive and salvage customer returns and broke; to manage storage and supply of WIP (Work In Progress) reels internally; and to manage the timely receipt, storage and supply of batch managed and general packaging.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Safety, Health, Environmental and Statutory compliance
• Identification and scoping of warehouse optimization projects in terms of technology, infrastructure, process and material handling.
• Effectively manage Warehouse and Packaging variable and fixed costs budgets
• Manage customer expectations (OTIF, schedule adherence, lead times), Manage supplier OTIF and quality
• Effective planning and scheduling in line with the daily plan
• Vehicle management (Safety, Maintenance, Utilisation, Running Hours, Supplier Management)
• Ensure effective management and development of personnel
• Ensure stock integrity (Accuracy, ageing, stock rotation) within areas of responsibility
• Ensure best practise implementation and continuous improvement in all facets of the Warehouse and Packaging operation

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work under pressure
• Warehouse Management
• 5 – 10 years’ experience in Warehouse and Operations Management in a specialist, supervisor or senior role
• National Diploma / BTech / BCom – Supply Chain Management, Production, Logistics or similar tertiary qualification
• Proficient with MS Office, MIS, SAP, Shop floor and Voyager programs
• Logistics planning and management
