The Structural and Thermal Systems Branch is seeking an individual to serve as a Structural Analyst. This position requires a broad range of technical expertise in experimental and theoretical analysis of spacecraft, launch vehicle, and aircraft structures to determine their behavior in atmospheric and space environments such as structural responses to loads and temperatures, vibration and damping properties, fatigue, fracture, static and dynamic characteristics of structures and components.
- You must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal sector: applying commercial finite element analysis codes including Nastran, Patran, FEMAP, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Ansys, or equivalent to assist with determining the structural capabilities of spacecraft, launch vehicles and aircraft structures;
- Supporting programming activities in Python, Matlab, Excel, Visual Basic, or similar programming languages to assist with determining the structural capabilities of spacecraft, launch vehicles and aircraft structures;
- Documenting and presenting work products using reports, trade studies, presentations, technical papers, design guides, or laboratory notebooks to explain the results of structural analyses completed to assess the spacecraft, launch vehicles and aircraft structures.
