Job Description:

As an Electronics Technician in the Remote Sensing Branch (RSB), the incumbent is responsible for contributing significantly to the development, and for leading the assembly, integration, test, and deployment of Lidar equipment for ground-based, aircraft, and spaceflight missions. Lidar equipment is a critical and essential element to the instrument suites employed by RSB to support NASA’s remote sensing needs for Exploration, Science, and Aeronautics.

Job Requirements:

• You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
• To qualify for GS-10, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service: Troubleshooting, diagnosing, analyzing, and identifying electronic system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem.
• To qualify for GS-11, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service: Working with instrument scientists and engineers, develop and implementing a test plan for the verification and validation (V&V), including calibration, of the equipment; Operating equipment, archive and quick-look of the data to ascertain equipment health and performance.
