Job Description:
Provide continuous input into financial and business decision making at a tactical/operational level, the completion of financial accounting reports and all statutory reporting requirements and the day to day execution of financial asset related activities. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of a system of internal control to safeguard the assets of Sasol. Ensure the complete and timeous capturing of all asset related transactions. Provide accurate, timeous information as and when required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Half year end and year end deliverables
- Compilation of annual financial budgets including cash flow, capitalisation, depreciation and wear & tear budgets = together with the projects team
- Ensures that all new assets are recorded in asset register and tax register
- Assistance with ad hoc requests
- Adherence to corporate governance and group asset policies and procedures
- Management of direct report(s)
- Automation of processes
- Assistance to manager in the identification of complicated financial issues to be presented to the accounting Reporting practices committee (RPC)
- Perform the monthly asset reconciliations and resolve related queries
- Provide asset related information and inputs for the bi-annual impairment calculations
- Forecasting
- Exercise relevant SOX controls in area of responsibility
- Resolution of queries
Job Requirements:
- Advance SAP and systems knowledge
- Work under pressure
- Self-starter
- Driver`s Licence (Code 8 / 10)
- Effective time management
- University Bachelor’s Degree (B Com Accounting) with Articles
- Detail orientated
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
- Taking initiative
