Job Description:
The Health and Specialty Care System Inventory and Store Specialist I (ISS I) is a key position for Supply Services with essential functions offering opportunities to gain experience related to using modern receiving software systems, warehouse equipment and the logistics to assure the patients/residents we serve are supplied their needed supplies for daily living.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts inventories, reconciles variances and maintains inventory of warehouse stock supplies to include analyzing reports and may generate replenishment requisitions. Provides reports related to receiving and inventory control.
- Inspects and cleans warehouse to ensure a neat, orderly and safe work area.
- Answers telephone, handles walk up customers and relays any messages or pertinent information to the warehouse supervisor. Provides information regarding status of delivery of warehouse stock orders as requested and other related warehouse inquiries.
- Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
- Picks and delivers warehouse stock to assigned units and departments on a scheduled or special needs basis either manually or with appropriate warehouse lifting devices.
- Loads and unloads supplies and equipment to and from delivery vehicles. Uses forklift, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Enters data in MIMS and CAPPS Financials computer programs daily in order to provide accurate and timely issuance and receiving of warehouse stock and nonstock items.
- Receives and assists with receiving shipments of commodities and equipment to include warehouse stock and special orders. Duties related to receiving include inspecting, counting, and checking items for compliance or damage and making notations on proper documents in accordance with the Supply Services Departmental Procedures.
- Delivers non-stock items to ordering departments in order to provide users with supplies and/or equipment in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to review warehouse rules, regulations, and policies for compliance and to follow departmental policy instructions for inventory control guidelines.
- Ability to use a handheld device for the purpose of managing warehouse stock and receiving goods.
- Knowledge of general warehouse operations to include shipping, receiving, issuing, customer service and inventory control.
- Skill in the use of mechanical lifting devices used in warehouse operations to move, transfer and deliver goods.
- Valid Class C Drivers License (Texas Drivers License preferred) to be checked yearly for any violations or suspensions.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
- Experience using integrated personal computer applications.
- Experience managing goods and use material handling equipment.
- Skill in use of operating a computer using inventory control and receiving software.
- Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
