Working at Dexcom – Algorithm Engineer

Job Description:

You will be part of the team that explores and develops algorithms for new indications in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Your contributions will generate new knowledge of CGM performance in new populations and drive the design of next-generation health sensing systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support modeling efforts and run simulations and present results to cross-functional teams
• Generate reports and support publications
• Conduct technical analyses and data processing activities to accelerate adoption of CGM in new settings
• Develop analytical tools for assessment of CGM performance and reliability in new settings
• Develop novel algorithms based on multiple physiological data streams
• Apply data mining and machine learning techniques to extract valuable information and patterns from clinical and commercial data sets

Job Requirements:

• Detailed understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistics
• Capability to understand academic literature from area of mathematics, machine learning, statistics, diabetes, & physiology
• Experience with common methods to ensure fidelity of processed data and analysis
• Programming experience (Python, SQL, MATLAB)
• Signal processing and algorithm development experience
• Previous direct involvement in Medical Device product and/or technology development
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including written and verbal communication abilities
• Knowledge of physiology and associated mathematical modeling methods and techniques
