Job Description:
Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create solutions for new or relocating lab equipment and efficient use of lab space
- Participate in development of and uphold technical space guidelines for design
- Support maintenance of OfficeSpace for accurate record drawings, data verification, space categorization, room number designations, occupancy/allocation accuracy,
- Participate in facilities master planning studies as needed by providing analysis, feasibility drawings, and reporting to support project requirements and facilities planning initiatives related to renovations and/or new construction.
- Utilize record drawings, occupancy reports, OfficeSpace (Computer Aided Facilities Management), and established planning processes.
- Understand business unit requirements driving space change (expansion, renovation, optimization) and develop test fit or feasibility plans to support change
- Responsible for drafting or modeling scenarios for business unit and stakeholder review (leveraging CAD or 3D Modeling software)
- Align studies and scenarios with occupancy strategy/workplace program for cohesive project plan
- Maintain and provide real-time reporting of occupancy, capacity and building information, leveraging OfficeSpace database, and related business analytic tools.
- Responsible for field verification of existing space conditions (infrastructure, utilities, architectural, occupancy, lab equipment) to ensure accurate development of scenarios and options
- Support Facilities and Construction Project Management team as needed for development of operating and capital budgets, scope, schedule, and narrative descriptions to support capital project funding requests
- Responsible for supervising and coordinating individual/small lab equipment relocations; coordination with department and relocation supplier to ensure successful move and alignment with approved plan(s).
Job Requirements:
- Google Sketch Up experience and AutoCAD 2017 proficient or higher required.
- Good design, research, writing and verbal communication skills
- Must work well independently and in team environment and possess strong presentation skills.
- Experience in space planning of corporate facilities including office, laboratories, or manufacturing.
- Extensive experience with Windows-based applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability to collect, compile and analyze a variety of data, identifies space needs and efficiencies, and adapt and match program needs to space available.
- Ability to clearly display and report data and drawings; and communicate technical concepts to non-technical users;
- Conducts research on space and service-related issues, analyzes situations accurately and develops corrective solutions in the selection of alternate approaches to space utilization and site master plans.
- Previous experience with Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) and Integrated Workplace
- Highly organized and detailed-oriented with superior thorough and descriptive documentation skills
