Xcel Energy Employment – Yard Equipment Attendant

Job Description:

We anticipate an opening for one or more Yard Equipment Attendant (Rotating) at the Allen S. King Generating Plant. The rate of pay for this classification is listed in the Exhibit A Wage Schedule (2023 starting pay is 36.61) with applicable rates for evening and night shift work.

Job Requirements:

• Will be required to function under written operating and maintenance procedures as required by management.
• Must have the mechanical ability and the physical dexterity to operate MERP installed equipment, coal conveyors, and any other associated coal yard equipment.
• Must have the adequate experience as a Coal and Ash Handler.
• Will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to intelligently communicate constructively with plant personnel, both verbally and in writing.
• Will be required to actively participate in training and retraining programs as directed by plant management.
• Must have full knowledge of coal conveying systems and in-plant bunker management.
• Will be required to work a scheduled rotating shift.
